Black Kite

Accipitridae: Milvus migrans

A winter migrant from the north, the Black Kite is about 58cm in size. It is a scavenger for roadkill and carrion and food discarded by humans. It also catches fish, and small mammals. The forked, not rounded, tail is distinctive.

This specimen was in Nakuru.
