Lappet-faced Vulture
Accipitridae: Torgos tracheliotus
This is the largest African vulture, over a metre in length, and with a wingspan of 2.8m. It is a scavenger, and because of its size is helpful to to other scavengers by tearing open the hide of animals which smaller birds cannot pierce.
