Yellow-throated Longclaw and Rosy-breasted Longclaw

Motacillidae: Macronyx croceus (Yellow-throated)

Motacillidae: Macronyx ameliae wintoni (Rosy-breasted)

Longclaws are members of the Motacillidae family, along with the wagtails and pipits. Like them, they are insectivores. As their name states, they have noticeably long claws. The Yellow-throated Longclaw is about 20cm and the Rosy-breasted a little smaller at 19cm.

Both species were seen in the Maasai Mara.
