Marabou Stork
Ciconiidae: Leptoptilos crumeniferus
This bird will eat any live prey it can find, such as fish, frogs and small mammals, but it is a scavenger, like the vulture, and has the same bare head, which is easier to keep clean after being buried in the carcass of some animal.
The Marabou Stork reaches up to 150cm in height, and the biggest ones have a wingspan of over 3m, which is as big as any landbird.
Marabou Storks were seen at Nakuru, and in the Maasai Mara.
