Red-billed Firefinch

Estrildidae: Lagonosticta senegala

The Red-billed Firefinch is about 10cm in length, and is a member of the Waxbill, or Estrilid Finch family. It feeds on seeds and grain. It was seen in Nairobi and Amboseli. The male is red all over, while the female has a red tail and red around the eye.
