(Northern) Olive Thrush

Turdidae: Turdus olivaceus abyssinicus (Olive Thrush)

Turdidae: Turdus pelios centralis (African Thrush)

The Olive Thrush is very common in sub-Saharan Africa, is about 22cm in length, and feeds on the ground for earthworms, insects and spiders. These pictures were taken in Nakuru.

African Thrush

This bird, seen only from below, seems to be the African Thrush, which resembles the Olive Thrush, but has a yellow bill and white underparts with a touch of orange at the sides. It was seen in Nakuru, where it overlaps with the Olive Thrush. It is also about 22cm.
