White-browed Robin-Chat

Turdidae or Muscicapidae: Cossypha heuglini

Identification Notes:

This species is very difficult to distinguish from Rüppell's Robin-Chat. This latter prefers higher altitudes, and so these specimens are assumed to be the White-browed.

The White-browed Robin-chat was formerly classed as a thrush in the family Turdidae, but has been reclassified along with many other birds with the Old World Flycatchers in the family Muscicapidae (Handbook of Birds of the World).

The White-browed Robin-Chat is a ground feeder, eating insects, spiders, and other creatures it finds. It sings its pleasant song in the morning and evening. It is about 20cm long.
