Lion females may weigh up to 180kg, and males up to 240kg. Females in a pride are related. The male comes from outside. Lions usually hunt at night. We saw some Lions in Amboseli, but there were more at Maasai Mara.

Notice the radio tracking collar visible on this female. Killing of Lions in Amboseli has been a problem, and new Lions have been introduced from outside.

These Lions in Amboseli moved to get out of the way of Elephants going to their base in the evening.

A Lion sighting attracts the Safari vans.
